Growing older is not easy in western culture. Women over 30 often lose sight of the fact that their life is more than their responsibilities or social expectations. One day she looks in the mirror and wonders who's staring back. She's forgotten the little girl who made badass mix tapes and kickass aerobic dance videos with reckless abandon. THAT little girl knew she was awesome just for being alive.
30 Over 30 is for women to take a few hours to remember their soul will always fly free and their body is the miraculous vehicle that takes them on their soul's human journey.
This photoshoot is inspired by many genres: fashion, glamour, contemporary magazine, beauty, fine art, fine art nude, and boudoir.
Women have so many layers! Since my favorite subject is one woman in front of my camera I couldn't pick just one genre! This experience is about connecting with all your layers, your whole self, inside and out, your body, mind and soul, appreciating it, owning it, being grateful for it, loving it.

Every way our bodies find a way to serve us despite limitations, either born unto us or created through trauma, disease, accidents, or mistakes.

Yes, symmetrical faces with smooth skin are still beautiful, but perfection is BORING!

The Shoot

A personally designed photo-session with three outfit changes. Choose portraits, fine-art, fine-art nude, boudoir, fashion, beauty, glam: $250

Hair and makeup: an additional $150 (recommended).

The "Art of You" Exhibit Event
A special photography exhibit event in your honor. Feel the power of being a part of a collective of like-minded women! The chosen image for the exhibit will be one that is beautiful because it stirs the soul and evokes emotion. Optionally, you will be able to purchase the printed image as a donation to the Cat and Raven Collective.

I work with passion to turn your images into art.
You may be familiar with shoot-and-burn prices where a photographer gives the same experience to all clients and then drops a bunch of digitals in a gallery that have been batch edited. I used to do this! Now, I work a little differently.
I creatively set up each portrait when shooting and then I carefully polish the purchased images in different ways depending on the image. The digital screen is my canvas. Some images take 2+ hours to create as a fine art piece. And some take only 20-30 minutes. But EVERY chosen image gets treated with individual attention and care. I've chosen to sell my artwork individually to allow for the time it takes to create the art of you that I envision.
I invite you to think more deeply, more poetically, more artfully. I've created affordable collections with large credits for every woman to be able to enjoy the level of this experience that is right for them!
These images will tell your story so I hope the credits help you to get more images so you can really tell it!
PROCESS
1.
Booking.
Text Gina Main Photography to schedule a phone call to get more information and/or book the shoot. 310-989-2501
The basic session fee of $250 is payable at the time of booking.
Available shoot dates and times are offered during your consultation.
2.
Pre-shoot.
On the day of the shoot, we will meet at the studio (Thousand Oaks location given at the booking call). You will relax in the makeup chair (90 minutes) or we will decide right away on your looks (3-5). Then we will put on your favorite tunes and start shooting!
3.
The photoshoot.
A discrete 90 minute guided photoshoot in a combination of genres decided upon during your consultation call, but easily adjusted if you change your mind!
4.
A Digital PROOFS Gallery.
W-F of the following week you will get to see 40 - 60 of the best images (artistically color edited, but unretouched)! You'll get to star your favorite images. Images you love and choose to buy will be treated to look amazing. Once you've starred two or more images, let me know! If you star more than two, this is when you will pay the difference for an upgraded package.
Galleries are archived within a week. There is a $150 fee to unarchive galleries so please don't wait. This is necessary so I can keep on top of post production in a timely manner.
5.
Order completion.
3 weeks after you choose your images, you will receive a new gallery of beautiful, polished downloadable digital images. You will be able to buy enlargements from this gallery if you wish.
6.
Gallery Art Exhibit.
Once all 30 women have been photographed. You will be invited to attend an evening to remember. This will be a powerful time for you to connect with likeminded women and their stories about the body-soul connection and aging and to see their images displayed as art!

Refunds for the $250 campaign fee are allowable one time and must occur three weeks prior to your session date to be honored.
Rescheduling is allowable one time and must occur 48 hours prior to the scheduled session. There is a $200 fee to reschedule within the 48 hour window. This is a specialty service and backup customers often need more than 48 hours to prepare.

Total time commitment on the day of the shoot is 1.5 - 3 hours depending on if you chose hair and makeup.
Expect to be done around 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, or 4 pm depending on your session.

STYLE GUIDE
Your styling speaks volumes about you!
Make sure you say the right thing!
STYLING
WHAT TO WEAR

Go minimal or go full glam. From nude to lingerie to evening gowns and everything in between. This shoot is for you.

Bring a few choices that you love yourself in. This does NOT have to be something that you'd wear on a regular day or even outside in public. You get to be creative here. We can decide at the shoot what will work best.

Bring black, white, and nude lingerie options. Nipple covers too if you prefer discretion under translucent material.

Sheer or lacy shawls and wraps give you a fun prop to play with and also look really cool.

Funky coats and men's dress shirts are great, too. Let your personality and style choose for you!

Accessories, such as bracelets, plunging necklaces, earrings, body chains, etc. can personalize your session even more.

A meaningful heirloom or gift accessory is highly encouraged! It will add depth and emotion to an image.

Body suits are incredibly beautiful on every body! Go black, grey, white or skin-colored. Nordstroms has many skin colors to choose from!

Test your apparel choices long before your shoot day to make sure they work!

If you feel you don't have anything, don't worry! I have fabrics, wraps, robes, dresses, lingerie, and more for you to choose from.
HOW TO PREP
MAKEUP and HAIR (if you DIY it)

Come with fresh and clean makeup, the way you love to be seen on a good day.

Eyebrows are often overlooked. Pardon the pun! Please make sure they are groomed in the shape you'd like to see in photos!

Bring makeup and hair styling tools for light touch ups during the shoot, like lipstick and a brush.
-
Lips are so important! Apply a lip conditioner before bed for weeks before your shoot and exfoliate to eliminate flakes!

Pay close attention to lipstick or gloss application. Bare lips are better than lipstick mistakes!

Come with clean hair that is lightly styled and not greasy! For long hair, please keep it moveable, without too much hairspray.

A hydra-facial 3 - 4 days before the shoot (no sooner, please) is a great way to go above and beyond for your self-love experience!
BODY
-
Shave or wax, unless you don't care about that sort of thing! I believe in breaking "rules" of beauty and doing what feels right to you.

NAILS! Please shape and color them how you would like. Hands WILL be in the photos.

Glasses will create indentations on your face. If you don't want this, please remove them a good while before your shoot. That said, glasses or sunglasses are fun looks if that's your style!

Drink lots of water in the days leading up to your shoot so your skin is glowing and hydrated.

Moisturize from head to toe on the day of the shoot.

Please wear loose clothing on the way to the shoot so there are no temporary skin indents.
BREATHE

That was a lot of prep-work, I know! It's one reason modeling is NOT for me. I wouldn't want to worry about those things all the time. But this is a special occasion that you don't do every day! The more you feel prepared, the better you will be able to BREATHE, relax, and enjoy your shoot!
EXTRA CREDIT: Practice moving your body in front of a full body mirror, standing and sitting. Pay attention to the angles and facial expressions you like best! The more you do to prep the more special it will feel!
