SoCal Senior Photography

For a progressive state by the ocean, California sure is slow to catch on to the wave of senior photography sweeping the nation. The local high school still sends kids to a brick and border photographer to take a headshot in a cap and gown for their yearbook photo. While I think it's great to equalize everyone's photograph in the yearbook, I also think senior sessions are a unique and fun experience that kids are missing out on here. The option to contribute your own images to your final yearbook after so many years of schooling is a great and positive one. For kids in Southern California who do want to feel special, to relish in the accomplishment of making it all the way through grade school by having a professional photoshoot that means something and marks a humongous milestone, it can be such a beautiful tradition. Luckily, some seniors go outside the norm here and book senior shoots on their own, for grad announcements and to mark the momentous time in their lives. I really hope the trend of senior portraits catches on here in the Conejo Valley, Thousand Oaks, Calabasas area in Southern California because I know more seniors would love to have the experience of a lifetime... so far in their lives.

Recently I got to celebrate one beautiful teen who's scholarship to play softball in college is only one of her many accomplishments and only one part of her multi-faceted personality. She's so wonderful inside and out and I hope she has the best life!
