It Looks Like a Painting!

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
― Degas
People often tell me my imagery looks like a painting. It always makes me so happy because that is exactly what I am going for! Art and story-telling through photographic imagery turn my camera into a very large (and expensive) paintbrush! Just like a painting, it does take time.
First, I get to know the subject so that their soul comes through, like a story in a single image.
Then, I set up the lighting and I shoot with camera and lighting settings precisely how I want them in order to accomplish my goals for the image once I get it onto my canvas- Photoshop.
It's taken a lot of training and practice to accomplish the look and feel that I want to create. I have many late nights working on each and every image in detail, giving each image the time and love it needs to become a story all on its own.

“Art is too important not to share.”
― Romero Britton
Fine art is a labor of love. The images are priceless, but people usually do have a budget! I want to provide them with affordable art of the ones they love so they can experience it for themselves. So it almost never ends up in my favor, time-wise, but it always ends up in my favor by how much people love their images! Seeing them love their very unique images is also priceless!
